Meet the Orthodontist
A Little About Me
I became interested in dentistry in childhood. My father was a dentist in Winchester, Tennessee, so growing up around dentistry inspired me to become a dentist. I attended college at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, graduating as the top graduate in the College of Liberal Arts. I attended dental school at the University of Tennessee-Memphis graduating 2nd in my class. After graduation, I became a resident at the University of Tennessee's orthodontics program. In 1988 after receiving my masters degree in orthodontics, I began practicing orthodontics in Hermitage and Lebanon, Tennessee. I stay current with the latest technological advances in this field with memberships in the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Nashville Dental Association, World Federation of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists and the Tennessee Association of Orthodontists.
As part of my commitment to the youth of our community, Benson Orthodontics sponsors local little league baseball and soccer teams. I also contribute to local Junior and Senior High baseball, football and basketball programs. I am a member of the Lebanon's First United Methodist Church, the Mt. Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club and support Habitat for Humanity, St Jude's Children's Hospital, and the Interfaith Dental Clinic.
I have been married to my beautiful wife, Katie, for over 25 years, we have two great sons. In my spare time, I enjoy boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, snow skiing, cycling and traveling.
I Love Orthodontics Because
It is truly amazing the changes that orthodontics can have in a person's life. It is very rewarding to have a patient who won't smile because of crooked teeth go through orthodontic treatment, not only to have their smiled transformed but their personality blossom giving them the confidence to smile all the time.
